So way back before I went all emo and decided to hide from the world for a while I was going to start a graphic design business with a friend of mine named Genevieve.  Well, I came out of hiding and we started talking again and once more we are back to the “Let’s make awesome logo’s and websites.. ”  So, currently that is where my mind is at.. that and make Christmas Card Templates.. yeah, honestly I have no idea why.. it’s October.  But.. I did design TWO today.. yes.. two.  And they look snazzy.  I stole the idea for the “joy” one from but I think mine looks better… it’s more retro fabulous!

Tonight was awesome!  My favorite answer for the “What is your favorite Book of Mormon Scripture and Why?” Was.. “‘And my father dwelt in a tent’ because it’s EPIC!”  The booths were awesome and I won an Italian Cream Cake from the cake walk.. My husband was making fun of me for not having won a cupcake when the “big” walk popped up.. and you can imagine my happiness when I took that beautiful cake and showed it to him and said “Keep your cupcake SUCKAH!”  Ha!

Ok, if I admitted the amount of times I have read the novel and watched Pride & Prejudice you’d probably call me a fanatic.  *coughs* read at least 12 times and the movie.. um.. way more than that *coughs* And here I find myself again reading Pride & Prejudice like it was the first time!  I figure every now and then it’s good to have some nice wholesome reading.  (you know, something aside to my People Magazine addiction) My mother-in-law has been kind enough to be my source for over a year now, renewing my subscription to People Magazine for my birthday.  Yeah, I know.. my mother-in-law is cooler than yours.  It’s ok, you’ll get over it eventually.  Anyway, back to the book at hand.  I’m not sure if it’s a crush on Mr. Darcy or perhaps Lizzy’s wit or her mother’s absurdness but I just fall in love with the book more and more every time I read it.

Some other books I’ve read lately that I have enjoyed are Twilight, Boy Meets Girl, Big Boned and She Went All the Way.  So yeah, I’m a big Meg Cabot fan.  It all started with a book called Boy Meets Girl.  I didn’t realize at the time that Meg Cabot was the lady who wrote The Princess Diaries.  Regardless, I had never seen a book written in that style before.  It was a series of IM’s, Email’s, answering machine messages, journal entries, etc.  It was just too cute and fun and I feel absolutely in LOVE with it.  So, go check out some Meg Cabot, you won’t regret it!  The books are HILARIOUS!

Let’s see in other news… My house is semi-clean.  Today I gave one of the Elder’s a piano lesson.  Tip for those who are trying to teach someone who doesn’t know a thing about music.. Come Unto Me (Hymn 116) is VERY easy to teach.  For a while I had a pretty full house.  Missionaries, my sister, my best friend, her two kids, then me, my hubby and our daughter.. add a barking dog and you have one big happy family!  Yeah.. now that I think about it I think I’m going to go chill on the couch and read some more.  Go Go Col. Fitzwilliam (he’s my fav.) Hmm.. I better get caught up with my Book of Mormon study class.. I am pretty sure I won’t be quizzed on Lady Catherine but there will be questions about 1 Nephi 17-20.

Ok, that is a bit dramatic.  I mean, today really has been great.  Aside from the part where I woke up.  I mean, am I the only parent that wants to cry out “Just 20 more minutes Mom!” But then you realize you ARE the Mom and you DO have to wake up?  How lame is that?  I had my daughter’s clothing all set out so we all got ready pretty fast.  I think the Pre-school ladies are still surprised to see me in the flesh. They probably thought my husband was like that one guy.. you know, the one on people magazine that had a baby?  Ok, I know it was a woman who had a sex change, but still.. amusing thought.

Book of Mormon study class was FUN.  Yes, FUN!  There weren’t many ladies there, six of us total but it was pretty great.  I spent a good portion of the time cracking up.  It’s amazing how some of those pre-conceived notions of people tend to be broken down when you realize that they too are human.  I suppose it’s part of the whole “growing up here” thing.  I see the women in my ward as PERFECT.  Ok, not literally perfect, but really having their stuff together.  It’s nice to hear their own stories and hear how their minds work and see that I”m not the only one who thought about the whole “Having a period during the trek in the wilderness must have SUCKED”  Could you imagine having kids during that eight year hiking trip?  One of the ladies said she couldn’t see how those women weren’t like “GET THEE HENCE!” but I figure that would really be the only thing to look forward to at the end of the day.  Am I right?

The day was a flurry from there.  My sister came over, we went to have Sushi at a local place with my monster, picked her kids up from school then came to my house.  My husband cooked a great dinner while I looked up stuff for a Family Home Evening which is going to be put off until tomorrow night.  My sister and her kids left then I started working on getting this blog together.  I’m liking how it turned out.  It was a pain int he butt at first, the header was cutting off for some strange reason..  Anyway, I look forward to editing it for each holiday.  It should be cute.

Alright, I think I’ve written enough for one night.
